I have an offer of $4800 - Should I take it?

I'm selling my 2000 LS V6 Sport package with 122K because I want a V8 LS. I have an offer of $4800. The only thing wrong is the airbag light - it needs a clock spring. The car is easily an 8 out of 10. Its black on black. Has new Toyo tires.

What do you guys think? Should I jump on it or hold out for a little more? I really don't need the $ right now so i want to do the smart thing.

I'd probably take it if I didn't have anything into modifications. The longer you wait, the more it will depreciate.

And it would also depend on how much you paid for it. If you are coming out ahead, why the hell not?

I myself buy a car and drive it into the ground. I've never sold a car before.
 
id sell. i cant imagine youd get much more than that. the way i see it, no point in holding out for a few more hundred and risk being stuck with the thing if nobody else comes along with an offer.
 
So many people are buying LS's now its crazy! People just want to have a luxury name. Well, I bought mine for the Lincoln name, and because it looks like a beamer.

I'd sell. Pick up a Gen1 V8 under 6k EASY!
 
You should sell it before the buyer changes their mind.
 
x2 on that one, ive had over 12 people in the last month offer me what I was asking for my 95 explorer, and email back and fourth for a week, and then they make a date to come look at it and possibly buy it, then they never show up.

Dont have the courtesty to even email me after that, after I email them asking whats going on......


So dont let this deal slip away, sell it!

4800 for a 00 v6 with 122k...someone in this deal is getting majorly ripped off....but....(suspense) IT ISNT YOU!

sell that bitch. its worth half that if your lucky. that airbag light will get you a nice 1000$ at a dealership for trade in. They cant sell that car until the airbag light is fixed. So 4800 from some moron...or 1000$ from a dealership.

i would def. break the light in the dash for the airbag before i traded it in if they were gonna only give me a G haha

I remember my dad test driving a few, I think like 04 and 05's and 2 had the airbag lights on
 
$4800 is a good offer, take it. Then try to get something other than a ls because the ls is dead.
 
technically they cant put that car on the lot till the airbag light is fixed. thats a huge safety issue, there are certain things cars can be sold with and without. but an airbag light is something that needs to be fixed, or else all they can do is wholesale the car or take it to auction.

its one thing to test drive the car and have the airbag light on (still a safety issue) but its another to sign papers on it. im sure if they have a huge section of fine print they could get around it though. But if you test drive that car and get into a wreck and the airbag doesnt work....it could get very ugly legally.
 
Thanks everybody who put in their 2 cents. I accepted the offer. And I just found an '01 V8 LS with 20k fewer miles for $3500. Its got dash lights on but I'm pretty sure I can fix those. So I traded up a year, got 20k fewer miles, and got a V8 - albeit with the airbag and check engine lights on. Crazy thing is I had several callers ask me "why I'm selling it so cheap?" There are some dealers here asking $6000 for very similar '00 LS's.

BTW - This is the funniest board I've ever participated in. You guys rock. I always find something to smile about here. And SweetPete - I liked your previous photo of the Joker much better.
