Hey guys. Long time member and I have had a black 2002 lse manual since registering. I love it and have been saving up to swap out the engine to something better.

With 20-25 grand, what engine should I be able to get up and running?

This is a joke thread right?

With $25K, you can buy a new engine for the LS, add Twin Turbos, and buy a good used 2002 Corvette with low miles.

Since you like the V6 manual swap in a 3.7L V6 with manual from a late model Mustang and mail me the extra money.

Probably won't be much, if any after dealing with the electronics...

I make the same statement every time this comes up (so dont take it personally).. But someone willing to do this, doesn't ask this type of question...

IF you are really going to do this..... :shifty: .....you need to find a shop that can complete.. and tell them how fast you wanna go for this many monies...

simple... get a LS7 and a tremec. that will leave you with 10k to pay someone to work out some of the bugs and get it running.

or for that price, you might as well get the whole Z06, have less banging your head on the wall, and be much happier with the better and faster car.

LS7 is a good suggestion. I rather go the route of swapping the engine because it's way more unique than a z06. I just ant something truly unique.

Rebuild the V6 with one-off forged internals (5-10k)
Use slightly shorter rods to lower compression ratio (not much room to play with)
Boost it (3k)
Get a one-off engine/trans adapter plate made from a hot rod shop (1k)
Swap in a stronger 6-speed (5k)
Upgrade rear end to MkVIII 8.8" with gears of your choice and LSD (1k)

Save the remaining cash for when other things start failing under power

Step 1: Buy a different cheap car as your daily driver
Step 2: Spend the next 10-years trying to mod the LS
Step 3: ??????
Step 4: PROFIT!

Or just make Dwiggy an offer to buy his 302 setup for a Gen1 LS, then buy a Gen1 LS, then pay Dwiggy to put it all together. Most likely still have cash left over to screw around with.
