I brought my car in for work last night because of an annoying squeak from the front end, and the a/c was blowing out hot air. I got a call earlier today, and they said I need the driver's side lower control arm replaced. I already had that done about 2 years ago. They can't find the record of that repair though. They said I need a new temp sensor and temp valve to fix my a/c. They replaced the temp sensor a while back to fix this ongoing problem. They didn't even say anything about the tsb I gave them for the a/c problem. All in all, they quoted $1580 to replace parts they already replaced once before.

I'm thinking of telling them to check the stabilizer bar, links, and bushings, and the dccv for the a/c. It's like feeding a kid broccoli, if you don't shove it in their mouth, they won't touch it.

:Bang

i know what you mean i took my car to the dealer like 3 months ago to get the pcm reflashed and when i got it back same problem so a couple months latter i bring it in for a issue with the starter ad thier telling me i need to get it reflashed again and im saying to myself didnt you guys already do that, so when i confront the service manager about them having to reflash for free because i already had that done he says the pcm has to be reflached everytime you do engine work and im looking at him like thats the best bulls@#! answer you can give me i hate the stealership

Man I wish I had the time to list the BS stoires I have been fed since 2000. You would think I owned two of them... Hey lsbit!

I went back to pick up my car, even though I didn't let them do anything. I told them about how they had replaced the lower control arm already when the ball joint sheared about 2.5 years ago. After not having records at the dealership that go back past 2 years ago (total bs), they then said that they only replaced the ball joint and knuckle. I asked them how they did that when the lower control arm and ball joint are a package. Then, one mechanic started saying he read the sheet wrong, and that I only needed the bushings for the lower control arm, which are packaged with the lower control arms.

He kinda gave up arguing after I asked him how I went through 2 driver's side lower control arms in 5 years, and hadn't had any problems with the passenger's side.

To add insult to injury, they made me pay the $85 diagnostic fee, even though I told them what was wrong with it, and what to check.

So, I figured I take a trip down to ford parts network to see if I could just get the bushings, and not the whole control arm, but I couldn't find the damn place. I drove to St. Augustine and back with the windows up because it was raining, and the A/C putting out some nice winter heat.

It's been a great day for me.

That is the dealership that I go to and they treat me very good. He even check the car and didn't even take 85$. Talk to robert, he is a pretty nice guy

the main thing is the dealership will never admit their wrong instead they give you bs answers to keep you quiet and make u spend more money, thats why if you dont know anything youll get swindled

Dealership Accountability to Dearborn

If it were me... I'd be contacting your regional corporate rep from Lincoln and having a "come to jesus" talk with him about his bad-for-business dealer. Make sure you put all your complaints in writing and insist on a written response from Lincoln. Man, does that really cause Dearborn to lean hard on a dealer!

Always an ordeal when it comes to these dealers always some story. Hey torries place isn't easy to find plus he does not warehouse a lot of parts. So you would be better served to just call or email him or maxx and ask for quotes.

Find out if they are AA approved repair site if so joing AAA if you arent already and file a complaint. I had AAA lean on a dealer that was trying to become approved and man the results I got.

The dealers are granted access to inventory based in part off of a customer satisfaction rating and in part by being approved by folks like AAA and other agencies. This is according to the AAA rep in my area that handles this sort of stuff.

I was looking online to see if they just sold the bushings for the lower control arm. Do they, or do I need the whole arm. Also, what are the chances that I would go through 2 control arms in 5 years?
