Found out today that in June of 2012 I will PCS back to Jacksonville NC. I am really excited about the move. Also worried about selling my house. Just hope it sells for a decent price. I dont wanna have to rent it out.

Maybe NEXT june if y'all have a NC meet I can make it to that one!

I got great news today, get the results of my bone scan on Wednesday, and Friday will find out if I got sellected for Gunnery Sergeant. This week has potential to be really good.
 
Good luck with the move and promotion. I should know this week if I made E-5. Fingers crossed for both of us. :cool:
 
Good Luck on your look for 7, I got passed over but it was my first look and I just hit 9 years TIS so I am sure that played a huge role in me not getting selected. How far is Jacksonville from Fayeteville?
 
I'm gonna be with 2nd MLG. Alot of the Marines I've trained over the last 3 years are there so it will be interresting to see how they are doing, and if I did a good job training them.

Jacksonville is about 2 hours from Fayettville. We used to go there all the time for training when i was with artillary. I got a lot of not so fond memories of being in the field there. lol

Looking forward to the move, hope the housing market gets better in the next year so I can at least break even on what at the time was a great deal.

So wednesday I found out my foot is broken. Same pain I have been having since september of last year, they finally give me a bone scan and guess what? It is broken! Idiots.

Then today I find out I got passed over for promotion. I honestly dont know why. I could understand if I had some bad paperwork or was a turd or something, but I dont. I did everything I could do. 1st class PFT, 1st class CFT, good fit reps, everything was in line the way it should be. I've never been so depressed in my life. There were 134 people eligible for promotion, 41 got it. Maybe next year.

And the foot....typical Marine....walking on a broken foot for over a year :p
 
Feeling better today. I can mope around feeling sorry for myself or I can better myself and be more competetive next year. It is what it is and all i can do is grow from it.

And the foot doesnt hurt that bad, more annoying than anything else. Gonna get healed up and back into the shape I used to be.
 
The military isn't promoting like they use to, I spend a lot of time in Bragg for "training" next time I am there, I will let you know.
 
Yeah you're right. There were 134 eligible for promotion, 41 got it. Its gonna be like it was in the 90's when they were downsizing, wont be uncommon to retire as an E-7.
