I am getting a bit of a rough run/skip at a VERY specific RPM range and throttle position. I narrated the video in case the camera shaking wasn't indication enough. I initially picked up on this little issue when cruising about 50 MPH(~1700 RPM), since the converter is locked at that speed it was shuddering a bit.
I had 6/8 coils replaced about 6 months ago under warranty( why they didn't get all 8 remains a mystery when the stealership gets money from ford for the recall work )
Now the kicker is, I have a K&N FIPK kit on it. I cleaned, then replaced the MAF sensor when this started happening. I am confident it is properly installed and no unmetered air is entering the engine.
Questions:
The last time I had coils going bad, the skips were under all throttle ranges. This is happening only under *very* light throttle and at a very specific RPM range. Should I still look at coils first?
I have about 2k miles left on the warranty recall period. Will the stealership refuse to properly diagnose the skip and/or refuse to do the coil replacement under the recall with the aforementioned FIPK kit installed? I'll put the stock stuff back on if I HAVE to, but I would rather not if it can be avoided.
Thanks again guys.
