I have a 01 Lincoln ls V8. I was wondering if anyone has tried a engine swap from the Gen 2 LS v8 or the 4.0L Jaguar S-type?

I have read that the Gen 2 has more electrical wiring so it might be more difficult. I also read the S-type uses the same engine so it might be easier. Those engines are alot more pricier as well :shifty:

All the electronics are completely different, and the main communications bus uses a different technology. And things like an electronic throttle body vs a manual.
Very difficult.

The Jag 4.0 motor will not work. Completely different electronic.

The gen 2 motor would be a waste of time and money for the amount of horsepower you would actually gain.

You would be better off spending you money turboing your current motor. Then buying and swapping a motor that you have no real knowledge of its true condition. Just my $.02.

You know what you should do.....

Buy the LSX

Thanks.
My friend told me they make a custom supercharger for the v8s. I will go for that in the future. My fried did an engine swap from his Gen 2 v6 to a v8 . He had to buy anther v8 so e told me I should swap the intake manifold. He said that might be the difference in the HP between Gen 1 and 2.

"They" is Lou and a few others who were going to make a kit from Lou's (quikls) custom surpercharger. Problem is, $5000 for the "kit", then extra parts are needed, tuning, etc.

And then there's the issue with the minimum order of 5 before production will start. People aren't willing to invest that into an LS.

What is the point of replacing 3.9l with 4 liter V8?

If "they" can make a custom for the 4 liter, they can make it for 3.9.

Sell the car and buy a S type R.

I'd have bought an STR a long time ago if the damn thing didn't remind me of the 90's Batmobile. I'd rather have the LS with the STR engine and suspension with all things being equal.

And if I ever get through that corner of my garage I probably will. LOL

Yea I wasnt sure who they were. My friend told me about it. He also told me about that ridiculous price!
