I just recharged my A/C with AC Pro earlier today and It works a ton better (good stuff :D). But now when I turn off the A/C, the engine fan still stays on. The speed of the fan varies on how hard I press the gas. Is this how the system is supposed to work? I never noticed this prior to recharging the system.

Thanks

Yes, the hydraulic fan can vary with engine speed. It will stay on high if necessary. The problem is if it doesn't run on high.

Although, it shouldn't respond identically to the gas pedal. Like if reving the engine is also reving the fan, then something is very strange.

I'll take a video of it in a bit to show exactly what's happening. If it's relevant, I saw a bit of green goo come out of the charge port (low side) on the compressor.

Edit:
I should've been more specific, the fan runs as if it is over heating. What's strange is that even when the engine is below normal operating temp and I have the a/c on then turn it off, the fan still runs as if the engine is over heating.

The fan does spin up when the A/C is on to ~40%. When you turn off the A/C, the fan will stay in the higher speed for about half a minute to a minute, then slow down.

It stays the same for the entire time the whole time is on. Prior to recharging the system I never had this occur. Sorry about the video, it looked fine on the iPhone till I uploaded it on the net. I'll change the video orientation when i get back home, as for now here it is.

Thanks guys!

If it's hot there, the fan should be pretty high the whole time the AC is on, and for a few minutes after you turn the AC off.

If you overcharged it, your high side pressure will be high all the time and keep the fan on high.
(I haven't seen enough to say that you have, so far it looks like normal operation to me.)
