How to program keyless entry code

I tried to program a user settable code for my keyless entry but can't get it to work.
I followed the instructions from Lincoln
I can erase the codes but when trying to input a new code, I never get the feedback to enter "my code".

Has any body experienced this?

What "feedback" are you talking about? When I do this, there is no feedback beyond the lock cycling mentioned in the instructions.

Type in the factory code (the 5-digit code on the blue and white card in your owner's kit), and then press the 1/2 button. The locks will cycle, then enter your new code, followed 1/2 or 3/4 or 9/0, depending on which Driver Setting memory you want associated with that code.

I can't get the locks to cycle!
But when enter the code and press 1/2 twice, then the locks cycle letting me know the user programmable codes have been erased.

I did get it to work. I did just as the instructions said and the new code works! The locks did not cycle like the manual said in step #2. They did however cycle when finished (step #4).

Did your car cycle the locks for step #2?

bought the 2005 LS used, did not have owners manual, is the factory code located anywhere on the vehicle ? I believe it came from an auction.

The short answer is no. The only way to get the code is to go to an FLM dealer (or someone with an NGS tester) and have them pull it from the computer. The Owner's Manual (which, incidentally, is available in PDF format from https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/owners_manuals/default.asp ) says that it's on "the computer," but doesn't indicate which module is "the computer." If you search, you'll see that a bunch of us have looked at every last flipping module in the LS, and none of us have found this mythical code.

Would a FLM dealership charge you to pull the code?

they shouldn't if you bought the car from them, but if you didn't they probably will unless they are cool dudes

I've been a student of the LS since 1999 and NOBODY has EVER found the code on ANY module that I know of, and I've been paying attention. Its also not in the trunk.

That's why I said "should". That is where Ford puts them and I just figured Lincoln would do the same.

Of course, that was pre-WDS..........
