Cat Removal
Two studs hold the cat to the exhaust manifold. I haven't yet tried, but would suppose that you can get to the nuts with about two feet of socket extension, a universal or two, and a breaker bar to turn the whole gizmo. I'd try to liberally hit the nuts/studs with PB Blaster or equal. When I took the pipes off the lower end of the cats---put in a Magnaflow cat-back system---, I just removed the clamps and banged a few times with a rubber mallet. An alternative would be to use a rod to knock the stuffing out of the cat. It's brittle and breaks up without too much trouble. You'd need an SCT or equal to get past the sensors. After they're cleaned out, just leave them in place.
