I have a question for you guys, yesterday my car chugged (hesitated) a little bit when I was leaving work(this happened pulling out of the lot when I hit the gas (1/4 throttle or so), the car had been running about 5 minutes. I noticed on the way home and now on the drive back to work the car seems to run OK at part throttle and idle but when I get on it like to get on the freeway I have NO POWER, and it feels like it may be running rough or missing when I get over about 3k rpm's. How would I start narrowing down what the problem might be. I searched through a bunch of threads and see all kinds of different things it might be. My car: 170k, fuel filter changed last year, chip, plugs and wires about 15000 miles ago. ANy suggestions would be appreciated.

If the engine lights on go to autozone and see what codes are on it. You should check to see if you got a vacuum leak somewhere, maybe your pcv valve hoses or something.

I would try removing the chip and see if the problem is still there. That would eliminate the chip or the contacts to it being the problem.

When it is chunking try to keep it chunking you may get a code light, Mine chunked I had to change my wires, even tho I had put new wires on before.

Well Bill I tried your suggestion first (cause it was the easiest), and the car runs fine now. I must have had a bad connection. I will try cleaning everything and re-installing soon. Thanks for all the suggestions!
