how to clean KKM filter?

Im sure lot of you have the KKM cone filter.
how and what do you use to clean it?
and how often?
it's been like half a year and Im starting to worry that there are lots of gunk.
or do you buy a new one. I dont think KKM filter was that expensive...

Do it every 15-20k miles I'd say to be safe, thats a lot of drive time. I'd almost open it up every 5k just to do it real fast, its not like it takes long.

They sell the kit cleaner on the site.

Get the S&B Service pack cleaner from KKM. This was specially made to clean the filters. It's similar the K&N cleaning kit I have and is cheaper.
