well the title pretty much explains this post. im sure theres a really easy way to clean it but i rather be safe and do it the right way. i didnt want to do it just because i use my car daily and if i wash it and it needs a really long time to dry or whatever i really cant go without the car, seeing as its my only means of transportation. thanks in advance to those who can help

Can you clean the KKM? I would imagine it would be just like the K&N, go get that recharger/cleaning kit and let it dry while your not using the car over nite in a warm dry spot in your house.

Thats what I did with my Blitz before.

It's very simple.....

Get a Cleaning/Recharging kit (KKM or K&N, it doesn't matter which).
Follow the directions in the kit.

The directions will tell you to shake out any loose debris.
Spray the filter with the supplied cleaner.
Rinse & flush the filter with regular tap water (not high pressure) from the inside out.
Spray the filter with the supplied oil (a little goes a long way).
Let dry.

The most important thing to remember is... DO NOT OIL THE FILTER EXCESSIVELY! Very little oil is needed to cover all the filter elements. Letting the filter dry overnight is also a good idea, as too much oil on the filter could damage the MAF sensor.

I clean my K&N filters every 6 months.... whether they need it or not.

Make sure you don't overoil it, that could be as restricting as not even cleaning it. I think you're only supposed to oil one side of it, the side towards the outside air.
