What i do to remove the front air strut on lincoln's is take a car battery and an extra selonoid wire off a junk car. First remove the bottom control arm strut bolt. Then you take the wire hook it up to the selonoid open the valve with the battery " the light colored wire is the hot" then squeeze the strut all the way up till all the air is out, unhook the battery and the strut will act as a vaccum. then take the top bolts out and the strut will come out without unhooking any ball joints.

Or you can just unlock the solenoid... thats a LOT faster. :) Without the air there is not much needed to push the strut up really.

Edit: Oh ya, and once up just twist the solenoid back in place.

Was gonna say the same thing. The advantage of his method, however is that there is no risk of the solenoid seals failing and not re sealing due to disturbance.

Doesn't it have to come off anyways if you are changing the air strut?

If he can change air springs without removing the solenoids then I have been missing something.
