how much does the dash, door panels, and door crash bars weigh?

My cars rebuild is primarily JY pieces, I hunted and hunted, found perfect (or very very near) pieces to replace worn/broken/missing stuff. Its taken me 2 years to collect it all, its been a fun hobby. I got lucky with the Addco bars, found them on a Tbird in the jy. It had been modded by its owner, who then lost it because of a DUI.

^^^^those addco bars that you found were a major junkyard score. I would have bin walking back to the gate with a massive erection!

I kinda was. It was loaded with goodies. Vogtland 1.6 springs with Tokico Illuminas, Super Charger and underdrive pulleys, Boston 6.5 components, braided brake hoses.

Yeah on a supercoupe. In Texas they'll impound your car for a DUI, then it goes to auction for the JYs. Funny thing is, the owners friend was walking up to the car as I was pushing a loaded wheel barrel away from it.

Holy balls! If you get a DUI in Texas, they take your car!?!?!! Am.I reading that right? Or do they tow it/impound it when you get the dui, and if you don't collect it after so many days it gets auctioned?

Why, because they went full retard and drove drunk. Anyways....

MORE FAST LINCOLN TALK AND PICTURES!!!!

Because it only takes 2 beers for uncle sam to give you a DUI and take away everything you worked so hard for. But yeah more Lincoln talk is fine with me. Were 37 post deep and not 1 of my 5 questions was answered yet lol. How much does this stuff weigh?

Unless you are installing carbon fiber doors, you likely wont see a difference that's worth investing all that time into making it an ugly t-bird.

Dash with harness 100Lbs
Each door 100lbs (Door panels are 10lbs/ea)
Seats 50lbs/ea
HVAC System 20lbs
Front bumper is welded on and if you take it off you need to add sub frame connectors to your wet noodle.
Crash bars are glued in so no...

I haven't actually weighed these things. I'm just going off of how much pain I was in dead lifting a dash off my chest (I know I'm weak that's why I'm in the AF)

Look up battery mods if you want to start with weight savings and go from there.

Gen2 front crash bumpers are welded on, Gen1 should be 4 bolts per front post. Probably around 20lbs or so

You got that backwards. Gen ones have the spot welds, II's are bolted.

Nope, my 93s was bolted on, my 98 met a pole and I had to bang it out straight with a hammer because it was welded and I couldn't swap it with the rest of my 93 front clip

Then some one has been inside your 93 and bolted it back in. I had too cut the spot welds in my 95 when that kissed a pole. The gen II's I have parted all have been bolted.

What ever way its attached it's useless to remove if you want your car to be ridged.

My 1995 is welded. Just checked.

It is hard to get any cooperation on weight reduction for many reasons. 1st there are those who for some reason are just offended by it. 2nd there are those that do it and are usually competitive racers and do not want to admit it or help other beat them.
