On my 02 LSE V8 the gas ave dropped from 360 miles per tank to 210. My car only has 42k on it and I go easy as i can on the paddle.
What can i do??????

If you do a lot of city driving, your MPG will take a nose dive. Mine would have went over 300 this last tank had I not filled up with a 1/4 tank left, but that was because there was a lot of highway driving involved.

I don't know aobut Miles per tank, but my miles per gallon which I've kept track of since I've bought my LS is around ~18.0-18.8 MPG city and ~24-26 Highway.

But I have noticed a drop in my MPG after I added the LS intake & K/N filter. Not much but closely to about 1-2 mpg

I have a 02 ls sport with V8, I drive the Crawl Bronx Expressway everyday, I get about 230 miles per tank (3/4) the message center says 15.1 mpg. The window sticker that I found the other day claims 17 city and 24 highway.

You can check your air filter and tire pressure they can both effect economy.

Don't forget during the colder months the refineries are adding MTBE to the fuel, that actually decreases your mpg.

For the mathematically challenged, and working with a tank capacity of 18 gallons, a drop from 360 to 210 miles per tank translates into a drop of from 20 MPG to 11.67 MPG. That's a pretty big drop (over 40% decrease), and more that I would expect from a change in fuel formulation.

JattGary, did you see a corresponding drop in MPG, and did this come on suddenly or over time? If yes, I think you've got a mechanical problem of some sort. If not, then it may be you did not fill the tank completely, or the sensor in the tank is not reading "full".

As an aside, I often compare the MPG shown on the message center with my own hand calculation (for those of you in public high school and the art history majors, that's dividing the total miles driven for one tank by how much fuel you add into the tank). The numbers always work out to be within 0.5 MPG of each other, so I'm confident the message center computer is fairly accurate, at least on my car.

YEAH IT WAS OVER TIME THE #'S DROPPED AFTER I ADDED THE INTAKE AND RIMS. BUT I KNOW PEOPLE ON THIS FORM HAVE THE SAME UPGRADES AND ARE STILL GETTING OVER 300 MILES PER TANK.

My MPG

My '01 V-8 has 75,000 and is averaging 18 - 19 mixed freeway and street in So Cal, and I drive it pretty hard. The only thing it has is a Magna Flow cat back.
