I mean the LSC is rated at only 10 more hp and a few cosmetic differences, which can be bought aftermarket. The non LSC are way cheaper than the 97-98 LSCs. saw a 98 on craigslist for $2800 obo with only 75k on it a few weeks ago. Just wondering...

Non LSC's are great.
Gen II's just dont have the monochromatic paint for the mouldings and grill, perforated leather seats, 'true' dual exhaust, and the gears are a little diff.
Other than that it doesn't matter. I prefer LSC's.

Not any real difference in price for base/LSC around here. Unless you are looking for something specific i.e a CE or blk/blk LSC I wouldn't walk away from an otherwise clean car just because it's a base model.

depends.....if you want to keep the car 100% stock, then yes go for the LSC, if not who cares......none of mine are LSC's and I love em!!!

The 10hp is BS... marketing BS.....
It's not BS at all... please tell me how the LSC dual exhaust setup doesn't make more power than the pathetic non LSC 2-1-2 setup with another resonator in it after the 3rd cat. Now it is true a stock LSC and stock base will run the same 1/4 mile time that's because you can keep the base in 2nd gear through the traps and the LSC has to shift into 3rd right before the traps due to the 3.27 vs. 3.08 gearing. BTW, it's rated at 290 vs 280 at the crank, it's not going to be a 10 horsepower difference at the wheels...

I think Gen I LSCs look kinda weird with their lack of chrome, probably due to the thin headlights and taillights. The chrome on a light colored Gen I works perfectly IMO. However, Gen II LSCs look quite a bit better than base ones, the chrome grill and taillight doesn't do it for me, except on Cobra MarkVIIIs beautiful green one. IMO of course
