how do i get the 3rd brake light housing out

need some help on getting my 3rd brake light housing off, im gonna black it out as well as my tail lights.

the metal part is different. Youo need to lift the back then slide the front

Is this accurate for a 2002 LS? The workshop CD states that the rear seat bolsters, rear side trim, and entire rear package shelf needs to come out just to replace the 3rd brake light, light bulb.

Anyone know for sure?
