I did some searching and only found things related to the DCCV where one side blows cold and the other side blows hot.

Mine is blowing HOT on both sides but the seats get cold. I'm guessing that I need to recharge the A/C system? Are the seats linked to the A/C thru the ducts on the back of the seat? Is the low pressure port on a GenII located in the same place as the GenI's (under the driver side front fender)?

try refilling your antifreeze in the A/C system. Mine was empty and needed to be refilled, did it at firestone....
 
The seats have their own independent heating/cooling modules and do not get air from the AC system. The only link between the two is that the DATC tells them how much to heat or cool.

If the air coming out of the vents is heated, as opposed to just not cooled, then you do indeed have a DCCV problem. If you are uncertain, unplug the electrical connector at the DCCV. If the air output gets much hotter, then the DCCV was probably okay and you have some other problem. If the air output temperature doesn't change much, then the DCCV is probably bad.
 
Pete, if some retard put antifreeze in your A/C system you have big f'ing problems

try the quick test that joe said, it probably either the DCCV or the system might need to be recharged, boy was i glad that i didnt have to replace the DCCV, and just had to get the refrigerant replaced

yea the low side port was in the same spot for 2nd gen, just behind the drivers wheel's splash guard

Hopefully its just out of refrigerant. I'll have it checked tomorrow as I have an appointment to get my window motor re-adjusted.

I thought it was antifreeze or whatever it is they put in the A/C unit for cooling the air that's blown? It's been since last summer since I had it done so I don't remember exactly....
 
antifreeze, is what you put inside your radiator to cool the engine and runs through the heater system, refrigerant is whats ran in the A/C system

Antifreeze is a liquid that you put in the engine cooling system along with water. It's purposes are: (1) to prevent freezing of the water in the cooling system, (2) to increase the boiling point of water so that it doesn't boil so quickly (steam transfers far less heat than water does), (3) to reduce corrosion in the system, and (4) to lubricate the water pump, thermostat, and DCCV.

R-134 refrigerant is a gas (at room temperature and pressure) that is used in the AC system to pump heat from one location to another. It is often called Freon, but Freon is a brand name for the most popular R-12 refrigerant. It was used up until Dupont's patent on it ran out.
 
Ok. Mine started blowing like 90 degrees on the drivers side and cool on the passenger side. Even when I run the heat, on 70 or below with the AC button off, it is blowing 90 degree heat. I downloaded the info for the DCCV but it doesnt show where it is located and how to replace it. Are there 2 climate control valves? How easy of a fix is this?

Also, you can try to clean and repair your DCCV rather than buy a new one. Tireman emailed the instructions to me yesterday.

Removing the DCCV appears to be a royal PITA. I've not found a bolt-by-bolt writeup of how to remove it. I'll be doing it this weekend, so maybe I'll try to take some pics and document the procedure...

How do you perform the A/c Self test on the Gen 1 ...i tried that one where you hold off and defrost then press auto ..didnt work
 
I replaced my DCCV this morning and took me less than 2 hours and that included driving down to get Antifreeze to replace what was lost when I removed the hoses. Only problem, my AC is still blowing hot and now I am afraid that I am out of R134.
