I run a wet kit. A dry kit cannot backfire: there is no fuel in the manifold.

It's not the plugs that everyone worries about, although you do need good ones.
Under 3k is a good way to remove parts from the top or bottom of your motor. Like this.

Backfires happen when a flame front is started backwards into the intake manifold. This can happen two ways: either the plug is hot, and when the new charge hits the hot plug, it starts burning instantly. Or, the timing has been so retarded that there is still burning exhaust gases when the intake valve opens.

An auto really doesn't need a widow switch. As soon as that nitrous hits, the motor climbs up on the converter.
