So I put in the AVIC 900BT to go with my custom 2 x 12 3.6 cu ft sub box.
Added the 3" tuned flared port tubes to the box as some members had suggested.
Ran new wires to the doors and replaced the door speakers with Infinity Kappa 6 x 8's rated 100 watts rms each.
Picked up a Soundstorm 4 channel 400 watt rms amp to power the Kappas.
Connected the FR and FL speaker outputs from the head unit to the console speakers right to left and left to right.
Put the mike by the ignition key.
Almost got everything done except the switch wire and steering controls so I'm just listening to the console speakers tonight.
I'm a little unclear about how to hook up the SWI-PS.
The 03-06 LS instructions at their site say to only use the white wire and hook it to pin 18 of a connector
http://pac-audio.com/swixprogrammin...earch=Lincoln&Submit2=+Search+Vehicles&ID=249

but I can't seem to find this connector let alone locate pin 18.
The switched positive and ground are pretty clear.
Not quite sure what they mean here with cutting or not cutting loop wires.
My car is an 04 and reading through the AVIC threads here doesn't give me much real information to go on.
I see others have installed this without too much difficulty and some help here would be appreciated.
I have the panel below the steering off right now and would like to finish this up tomorrow.
I also grounded the parking brake wire however when it booted up the unit said it detected the wire was not hooked up correctly.
Does it need to be grounded or does it need to be hooked to a switched positive.
Thanks in advance for your help AVIC guys.

It's pin 18 of the main connector that was plugged into the stock radio.

Connect the light green parking brake wire to the ground wire connected to the radio. Then you must either do a software hack, or you must move the unused mute wire to the bypass location and ground it. See AVIC411.com

Oh ok
I was looking for a connector on the steering column.
And it says to ground pin 19.
Not a problem.
I'll have to pull the head unit out again but now that it's all been fitted
it only takes a few minutes.
I bought the Scoche bezel kit for 10.00 but used a factory nav plate
and cut it even tighter than the Scoche panel.
The Scoche side skirts bolt onto the AVIC and hold it well with minimal mods primarily drilling some slots a little longer.
With the other end of the Scoche pieces bolted through in the stock location
below the air vents it makes for an easy firmly held no movement installation.
I'm going to use some black o ring material to fill the small gap between the AVIC and the nav bezel.
I'll have to check into this hack at AVIC411 as I want to use the mute wire
together with the Laser Interceptor front and rear laser detecter/jammer
which actually talks! It and the V1 will go off with an alarm if I get laser painted and then a sexy woman's voice identifies the type of Lidar gun painting me.
The Laser Intercepter has a mute wire so I want to see how this will work with the AVIC.
Thanks for the quick response :)
