I've noticed my car running down the highway would creep up above the "A" and saw on here where these cars are supposed to have a chin spoiler. Well the previous owner had done 1 too many Dukes of Hazzard jumps and curb scrubbings so mine was gone. I was messing around the shop at work and decided to make my own. Sheared some aluminum and put it on a brake and walla- instant chin spoiler. Yes it does make a difference, 80 degrees here today and all the way home my temp guage never got off the "A". Kinda gives the old Mark VIII a little bit of NASCAR look.

Does anyone have a close up pic of the original deflector installed? Turborich posted a pic of his, but wasn't close enough to make out the detail. Im picking up some aluminum and pop rivets and gun tonite, to strengthen my 'X' brace, so could do this also. (every gen 1 i have seen has been missing the deflector - must be the first thing to vanish due to those concrete parking blocks)

Good job, btw, hemihed! looks like an effective mod!

I will take a pic of mine for ya, I bought a piece of rubber stuff @ the home depot & screwed it to the origional deflector, I made it about 1/2" lower. You get the idea though, it's almost factory except it's 1/2" lower. I did this because the factory one was bent backwards a bit & this one works much better!!! Hemihed's should force a lot of air up into the radiator due to it's angle. They really do work.
