High pitch sound through speakers

I have the factory jbl sound package i can listen to music for a while and then all of a sudden i get a high pitch sound that will stop but music does not start to play again if i shut off my car and wait a while (couple Hours) it will work again but if you turn the car off and open the door to shut off everything then try turn it back on same sound or no sound is this a amp or headunit problem Anybody else had this problem

I would suspect AMP issue. But I am not a radiophile like some others.

Does it whine or go up and down when you accelerate... could be an issue with your alternator or maybe a bad ground... I doubt it's a ground since you probably have never moved it... but maybe something else is interferring... if it's solid it's probably the crappy ass amp in your trunk... sorry bro

My stereo did the same thing. The amp was bad and I simply replaced it with a Kenwood with a CD player. Our factory amps are so old in tech that it doesn't make sense to fix or replace them. Just put a new stereo in. I took it to one of those auto sound places. Cost around $300.

Thanks for everyones help and figured it was the amp because it stays solid just needed second opinion
