Alrighty guys, I have a few questions about HO alts in these cars.
1. Has anyone ever put one in the latest model Continental (98-02 I believe)?
2. How difficult is it to remove the alternator on these cars?
3. I've heard that the ECU plays a big role in voltage regulation, would adding a HO alt mess with the ECU at all?

Any and all help is appreciated!
Thanks!

1. I only put in reman alternators
2. 45 minutes to 1 hour - not that difficult
3. It is my experience that the regulator on the alternator controls the charging - it has a circuit built into it and it says so in the service manual. My car had the senior tech look at the charging system and it always comes back to replace the alternator, which has the regulator built into it - and the regulator itself can be changed.

I'm thinking my 99 has the regulation control done from the ECU, not stand alone, but it might work that way too.
