I found a 2002 Lincoln LS V8 for sale locally at $6,000

He says price is non-negotiable but i don't really believe him,
The car is in fantastic shape but it has 170,000 miles on it.

I just wanted to know if there were any of you LS guys who could fill me in on what happens to these cars with that kind of mileage.

Any problems?

Good deal?

Thanks,
-Joe

I paid 4100.00 for my 00 LS V8 w/ 86,000 miles, only needed upper control arms and lower ball joints on the front. 5Th car I bought from EBAY.

With that kind of mileage you should be able to pay no more than $3000.00. High mileage V8's are having issues with timing chain tensioners if I remember correctly.

That is a great deal if it were a 2004-2006... But for that year?

KBB is around 2600-3300 tops Retail!

And if it were a gen2 with that much mileage i would stay away.

I dont think i would purchase a vehicle if it had much more than 100K on it, unless it was an insanely stupid cheap price and in that case i would use the extra money to replace everything i could.

Wow. Yup that seems like a lot. Keep looking around, you'll find a better deal woth less miles.

I just passed on a 96 accord v6 ex with 135K for $500.

wow....thats a good deal.

early 90's imports are insanely reliable. We just let go of a 1990 nissan sentra 4cyl manual, with the 1.6L twin cam engine. Reliable as heck, amazing mpg. looked like hell from 20 years of daily use and not kept in a garage, but it was only like 9K when it was new.

Original clutch, tranny, engine...matter fact the whole vehicle was original.

ha similar to this, except this one looks clean
