high idle

Hi all i parked my mark after work today and before I shut it off I noticed that it would not idle down from 1000rpm, shut the car off and restarted it and it was perfectly fine. Any ideas as to what may have made it happen?

Ok thanks, guess I should clean it any kind of special cleaner for it?or special way of cleaning it?

Please do yourself a favor and replace with a new one and if you have the cash, swap the TPS too because it's just a matter of time and it could also be the reason for the high idle. I have seen both be bad with three different Marks. Usually it is the IAC and have had one where the TPS was bad and causing the idle to be high. You can clean it but when you dig back there where you have to get just to change it or clean it, it would give you peace of mind to know you have a new one.

CRC brake cleaner will work or any brake cleaner and CRC MAF cleaner works too.

yea Im gonna try cleaning it first maybe it will solve my weird shuttering problem too...

+1 on the brake cleaner! Just cleaned my whole manifold with it, cheap tooth brush works nice too lol
