First of all, tnx in advance I have used this page to fix mi LS several times (air bag, window regulator, abs module in process) this forum is great has a lot of info available and thats why I decided to sign in, if I write something wrong im sorry english is my 2nd language and im not perfect, I bought a Lincoln LS8 2002 like about 5 months ago, and I love this car, the way it feels the way it handles the way it looks, no matter what other people say I like it, also I like working on cars so the little problems seem to me like a hobby, and it never ends lol, my next thing to do is reprogramming the abs module, because it has all my lights on the dash on (abs, hand brake, and advancetrack) also im currently installing some sound equipment, a navigation system, some boston speakers and an amp, im just waiting for my HID's to come, 6000k in low and fog lights (thats the only thing that I dont like, factory headlights/bulbs) well I would appreciate any comments :D

Welcome, tons of great stuff to be found on here. Don't be afraid to search first though.

tnx and believe me I spend like an hour each day just reading, because you cant know when you will need that info :p

Not so sure you can reprogram the ABS module, lights on requires a fix or repair of the reporting item.

well thats what the technician said, that the code reader mentioned something like the abs module has been replaced and never reprogramed so the computer in the LS didnt recognize it and so light up all those simbols on the dash, but that code reader could not reprogram the abs module, also i found another thread and they said its a common problem, well they dont call it reprogram they call it "ABS/ATS module recalibration" and for that I was told that I needed a very specialized computer to do that

thats sounds like the issue people are having with after market wheel hubs

oh and welcome

isnt that a common OEM problem?, because I have whats called "technical service bulletin" published by ford and it says that was common in 02 LS's

im not sure honestly.... I know when I switched my hubs to the ones I have now.... I had issues with the sensor not seating properly.

deamn... I dont know if the previous owner switched them or if they are the original one's

haha yep Tijuana Mexico... so I should check that before anything else, what im I looking for? a hanging wire from the inside of a wheel hub?

lol.... no where the sensor goes in... sometimes they dont quite go all the way to the contactor thingy.... if you search wheel hub there may be a better explanation for ya

ok ill give it a search because I have no idea where is this module

well after reading a lot of posts related with advancetrac/abs, I read that in some cases the level of the brake fluid make the module go crazy and send a lot of codes, lighting up the entire dash (advancetrac, abs, parking brake, check advancetrac), well im just arriving from my gym and I notice that my brakes are making this noise when I press the brake pedal, that squeeking noise that makes when there is just metal against metal (I have never paid attention to that because of the music or something else), so im guessing if the brakes are making noises thats because the brake pads are so thin that the bolts are touching the rotor right? and this lowers the level of brake fluid because it takes more liquid to press the pad against the rotor right? so... could just a change of brake pads make go away all the lights on my dash? , my only concern is that in a diagnose already came up to recalibrate the ABS/ATS module :(...

Did the metal on metal squeak just start? If so I think the pads have little tabs built in to squeak to tell you its time to replace. I don't think the extra fluid required to move the pads a few milimeters is enough to cause low fluid level.. If your brake fluid resivoir is full, then your good there. I'm willing ot bet its an issue with the ABS module thing you mentioned.

Good Luck. I have an 03' and had to replace one of those. Well... the dealer did.

mine is an 02 LS8 Premium Sport and yes I think it just started, last night I couldnt see the level of the reservoir but im going to check it tnx
