hi output alternator how long is the wire to the trunk? thanks

I would say 10-12 feet. I assume you're talking about the power wire??? What size of wire are you using??? I would recommend at least 4 gauge, 0 gauge might be somewhat of a pain to run, since it's so thick. How big of an alternator are you getting, and what brand??? I bought a 200 amp from Motor City Reman for my truck about 4 years ago, and it hasn't failed me yet. I'm also planning to upgrade my alternator on my LS, I might go with db electrical, a bit cheaper.

what are some good places to cheack for alterantors.

not for nothing theres this alternator shop thats telling me he can remove my old one and adjust it to more amps is this true??????   :shifty: :shifty: :shifty:

you can have your stock alternator rewound for better output. check out www.mralternator.com

I purchased one from them years ago and sent mine back as a core. They rewind factory units. Never had a problem. My stock on my old car would put out about 88 amps at idle. The new unit put out 121 amps at idle. It was on a nissan altima.

FWIW, I have replaced my....

alternator and I was told that my '02 V-8 came from the factory with 135 amp unit. If you are talking about the 'battery cable' from the trunk to the engine compartment, I have always used OO welding cable for this run.
