so i stopped with mark Viii's for a while, had a couple other project cars i was working on, also was enjoying my cobra.
so early this year i was looking around for a project car and found this. 1989 mustang 4cyl automatic nice
clean interior paint was alright but not the best.

so i wanted to build this one. started putting parts together. biggest thing was deciding on an engine, 5.0? or 351?
well i couldnt decide. so i found good deals on both and picked up both of them.

i ended up selling the 5.0 to a guy i work with and didnt want to wait on the machine shop with my 351.
so out came the new engine for the foxbody. here is the engine still in the old car on the way to pull the engine.

only question i have now is who do you recommend to tune the mark Viii pcm? thanks guys!

When I first saw engine choices I was like why not a mk8 engine. Then I felt better. LOL

Lonnie Doll at Blue Oval Chips is very familiar with the Mark VIII engine and has done a fair number of DOHC swaps into things, a lot of tbirds and such.
i would call and talk to him about what he can do.

yes it is needed, the k-member in the fox doesnt have the correct motor mounts, and the sn95 K-member is a direct bolt in. well aslmost, you just need to elongate the rear mount holes.

On another note, i need help. i need a complete wiring harness for a 95 Mark Viii. the complete engine wiring, does anyone have a
parts car with a complete wiring harness. i ****ed up and only grabbed the wiring for the top of the engine... not realizing that i missed a whole bunch of wiring.

Go obd11, hit the junk yard to get what you need or hit up Eric "Markviiiedrea", pretty sure has a gen 2 parts car laying around.
Check out modularfords.com.....Modular V8 and V10 Conversions and Swaps lots of great info on modfoxes.

how would that work with the IMRC's? anyone know what would have to be swaped to run an OBDII harness?

If mark wiring is used... swap to gen 2 IMRC's cobra intake... or do what Frank pointed .... get cobra wiring.
Check out the web site I posted....and read :)
No need to reinvent the wheel.

another Mac Attack...looks good

with the IMRC delete, is a stall converter needed?
re; tune, here in Ga there's a highly-skilled retired Ford mechanic who does Dyno tuning, mostly GT's and Cobras...Larry Day Performance, super nice and smart guy

I have a Cobra intake and fuel rail with IMRC deletes. Maybe we can work out a deal since I am local.

Alright guys, been throwing ideas around. I got the engine and trans out sunday before work. Need some input... since the engine is out should I paint the engine bay? Now the car isnt going to be a show car by anymeans. Its just a fun tinker toy. What would you guys do? Paint it or just leave it as is and enjoy it the way it is.

Since it looks great wet sanded and buffed so far. I would keep doing that. Looks real good!

The mustang looks really clean, I mean really clean. Maybe repaint some things underneath....just thought.

Sorry about the Mark viii getting reared like that! I fell out of my chair when I saw that! ugh.

Ita honestly one of the cleanest foxbodys ive seen. Interior is mint. Car only has 86k miles on it. Its clean
