I Need some help before i take the car to the stealership again but this is whats goin on and what was done prior.... I had my crossover tube replaced and i jus replaced my radiator now my cooling fan isnt kicking in and the car is starting to overheat when sitting......how do i find out if the solenoid for the fan has gone bad or if the system jus needs to be bled.....jus shootin in the dark right now and does anyone know who sells a replacement fan assembly if i need to replace the whole thing......and the fan was working before i had the crossover tube replaced it would run all the time but also i jus turned on the a/c and it didnt kick on either i hope this post isnt confusing.......jus to be more clear i'm want to find out how to diagnose the hydraulic fan system to find out what needs to be replaced.....thanks

i'm in the EXACT same situation right now. At first we misplaced the hydraulic fan key so we substituted it with a small metal chad that held in perfectly. Before we put it back together it spun freely, but when we mounted the back with the bolts the fan turned stiff (as in not turning freely).

ok so if im following what ur sayin the rad fan might have been mounted wrong when it was bolted back up to the new one??
might have to let the stealership mess with it smh.......but ill try that c if it spins freely if not then i know it wasnt mounted properly

not too sure what the problem is, i'm just throwing in my 2 cents. In all honesty, ford should've just upped the alternator specs and throw in the electric fan from the start. Cost effective to both the Ford company and owners of the LS.

I've had the car parked up for a few days and I'm beginning to feel the stress of not having a car. Thursday if we can't get it running, I'm ripping out the hydraulic setup and replacing it with the electric. The only concern I have is variable fan speed with the electric fan. It would be nice to have the fan come on higher and higher at different temps.

Ahhhhhh... But that wouldn't allow for that brand of fail-safe cooling. As long as the engine is turning so is the fan; maybe not at higher speeds if the solenoid fails, but at least it's turning.

Well jus tried to spin the fan by hand it moved but had some resistance so now I'm leaning toward the solenoid but yeah I can feel the stress replaced 2 things n s@$ t keeps failing but I saw a write up on how to bleed the system so imma try that then if that fails take it to the stealership to find out exactly what it is.........I luv my lincoln but it's fukin up my money too much right now

ok so i jus looked at everything all the connections going to the fan i hear the pump whine still no fan turned on the a/c still no fan im stumped
