I am trying to remove the chrome strips on the front and rear bumpers...anyone know how to do that?

Also what is the best way to get the chrome plating off of them? It is flaking off and I want to paint them!

PLEASE HELP!!

If the chrome is flaking off, you should be able to sand it, prime and paint. I had a chrome Ford grille painted that way, on a previous car I owned. Never had any problems with it. Or, if the chrome pieces can be removed, you can sit them in muratic acid for a couple of days, and the chrome will strip right off. Just a pain in the butt to do it that way.

Yeah..there are just little strips of it peeling...and when I try to peel it more it doesn't come off very easy? I have a few pieces off the car like the grille and the license plate surround...but those are different type of chrome plating? But I will try to sand them today to see how well it comes off of them?
