Help urgent!

What size are these bolts at number 9 on the diagram? I snapped one of these, im on my way to autozone to pick up a torque wrench. I am gonna attempt to re use the same valve cover gasket and re seal it. It's never been used, but sealed once so hopefully it'll still be ok.

Anyone know the size to one of these at number 9?
 
Just take one of the bolts with you..

Technically speaking, the gasket didn't seal.. No heat was added to create the seal so you should be fine..

I took one of the bolts, they don't have them...all they gave me was the bolt without the sleeve, and it doesn't even look the same, it has the same measurements. I'll have to drive down to Texas from Tennessee for my block leave, will it be ok to drive down there with one bolt broken with everything else sealed?

Yes, but you'll have oil leaking out where the bolt should be. Then how would you clean the oil off to apply the sealant without having to take the cover off again?
If you have a bolt with the right threads and it's not too long then I would use it until I could get the correct bolt. If it's just that the head is different and the threads continue all the way up the bolt, you will be okay.
BTW, Lowes and Home Depot have a fair collection of specialty bolts. I found some bolts for the water pump on my Ranger at one of those when the auto parts stores didn't have them.

Joe you are a life saver man. The bolt is the same length/width and threading. Just a different head and no shield. I will try and get the old one out to put this one in just until I get down to Texas and order the parts from here to be delivered there and get it done asap. I bought a cheap torque wrench from a market down here, hopefully it will work. It's just real tough to get a socket wrench into some really tight spots. Any tips?

You pretty much have to build up a set of all sorts of sockets, extensions, and wrenches (torque adjustable type in this case). If you get a good feel for how hard to tighten using the torque wrench on the bolts you can get to easily, then you may be able to forgo using the torque wrench on the difficult ones.
