My dad has a 2001 Taurus with intermittant electrical issues. Sometimes the windows/moonroof do not work, sometimes everything but the anti theft light does not work including headlights and the horn. And sometimes we get varies stages of electrical things not working along with a no crank when we try and start the car. It can be fine for a month then do it then act up a couple times a week. Sometimes it revolves itself in minutes sometimes over 24 hours.

Replaced the battery now I'm not sure where to go next. Anyone have some direction? Thanks

Once I can get it running again I will check but I don't think so as some of the issues show up independently of each other. For example sometimes the car will crank, start and run fine but the power windows/moonroof will not work.

I'd check the power relays and their sockets, and I'd check the main electrical (both power and ground) junctions. It sounds like you have some loose connections somewhere.

Check the ECM connections on the passenger side firewall. They had issues with them

Here is a simplistic approach, We had a 98 Taurus with a moon roof that worked intermittently, and it turned out to be rats nibbling at the wiring harness in the rear ceiling.

We garaged the car all the time, and that was a stunner. Those little boogers would love to find their way between the body and the liners of the car. I just found it by accident.

May not be your problem, but that's what happened to our Taurus.

Hope it doesn't happen to Cricket
