Hey guys. I've had a leak from somewhere around the coil covers for a while now. I finally snapped a couple pics, both from the passenger side. Is this indicative of a certain type of problem? I'm bringing her in for an oil change on Monday, so they can check everything out before the warranty expires. I told them that they may need to pull the covers to see if there's oil in the wells, and if there is, to replace VCG's under warranty. What else do you think I should ask for specifically? Thanks in advance!

yes - this if the valve cover gasket issue.

if you open the COP cover - you'll find oil in the spark plug wells....

Yup, it's the valve cover gaskets for sure.

I had the same issue on my 00. My coils kept going bad and i was pulling it apart to replace a new one about every other month. I finally noticed the oil leak and got pissed off and replaced all of the coils and gaskets and i haven't had any problem in over a year.

The kit comes with the outer gasket and all of the inner rings that go around the spark plug wells.

Exactly what I thought. Sorry for bringing up yet ANOTHER VCG issue. I should know better :p

Oh, the VCG's are covered under my aftermarket warranty. I'm hoping I can get new coils too.

Yeah, the service department I spoke with told me it might only be the orings around the spark plug wells. I'm not okay with only replacing those though.
