To me, it doesn't seem like the same car, in the pics Don posted, it looks like both taillights emit the same amount of light, if you have a busted taillight and cover it in tape, the taillight/brake light gets dimmer. Now that could have happened after the event as well...
Also, the left side of the high mount 3rd brake light seems to be out on the car in Don's pics... now I always notice people seem to neglect to replace those bulbs. Maybe test the brake lights when someone checks out the car. Check the trunk for grease/oil/dirt stains from putting parts in the trunk, maybe scratched or broken interior parts from. Hastily loading/unloading things
OH! Also, no license plate on the CL ad... kinda suspcious. But if these folkswere pro's or atleast knew what they were doing remotely they would have covered their license plate w/ duct tape anyway.
Also notice in the CL ad, there is someone sitting in the drivers seat
