Trouble shooting help needed:
2000 LS V6 approx 95k.
Heres the short version of the story. Today I go outside and am gonna wash my car when I get a brilliant Idea to do some engine bay detailing. I start my car and she revs right up so I pull her into the driveway. I do a little interior detail and then pop the hood. I filled up the washer fluid and It overflowed a little bit. Then I get my bucket and sponge and with spic and span cleaner and a little water I start cleaning. I poured a little water over a few parts of the engine like the intake manifold and engine cover ect, a decent amount of water definitely was trickling down into the bowels of the engine bay and some got into the spark plug wells (on the outside). I buffed off the fenders and closed the hood. I started her up to drive to the diner with my mom and something was terribly wrong. The car seems almost dead , like there isnt enough air getting into the engine. Symptoms include Immediate engine light, strong odor of gas coming out of the exhaust, and a strange vaccum suction noise when the engine gets cut off. I called up my friend and he suggested that I take the car to a local Shop. I said "no way jose" If I do need to run codes I doing it the old fashion way, going to auto zone and pretending im gonna spend money there. Basically, I need help if anybody knows how this can be remedied, I refuse to go to the lincoln dealer unless it is an extreme emergency, the same lincoln dealer that charged my blind ass $1500 for a fuel injector and a coil. Right now the car is sitting in the street and im gonna borrow my moms car for work today and tomorrow (unfortunately I work sundays). Im hoping that maybe i got water into something and a day or two of airing out will remedy the problem. Idk. Please Help! (pie and juice for whoever can help me
