Hey guys, this is a weird but valiant request.

This year held one of the best, most charitable events in LVC history. Not many of you guys over here know the mark viii side. Anyways, pepperman owns a town car. He goes to the Bosobel Beach Party every year. And every year he admires the mark's there, though he's not able to purchase one. Brandon (kustomizingkid) - a good friend of mine and to many who know him - thought of a great idea... to have everyone pitch in and get pepperman a mark, and present it to him at the meet this year. He organized the purchase of a mark in dire need of tlc, put in countless hours restoring it, detailing it, fixing problems with it, etc. Not to mention a bunch of the mark guys provided whatever help they could as well.

Anyways, the point of this thread - He's about $400 short on the whole project. I am posting this to ask for donations to be part of the greatest pay it forward project on LVC.

Here's the link:

Many thanks in advance. I'll be donating later today.

I'll be taking up a collection soon to help my son to some much needed maintenance on his '87 Mustang GT convertible. It is in dire need of a new top and he doesn't have much money......

sarcasm? sorry, my sarcasm meter is on the fritz again...

man if i had some extra money i'd love to help out sounds like a nice project. but being in college and working part time there is no such thing as extra money let alone enough money

No. It just seems everyone wants donations to pay for their stuff. That's the problem with this country; most people expect someone else to foot the bill for them. My son is just as "deserving" as anyone else. He also has a HUGE college loan.

On a subject like this, I'd recommend the advice of the 'Wise Old Owl'. (The only worthwhile part of the 'Bambi' saga.)

Poor you ... wah ... just hope that avatar doesn't mean your a Christian ... LOL ... Nobody was asking for anyone to flip the bill ....

It was friends doing something for a great member of this site, and seeing who wanted to help out. Too bad your son doesn't have the character of KK who with no thought of his own possible loss took this project on offered the idea to the membership and many from the site pitched in because they wanted too, not because someone was begging or asking for it, they felt it was for a good cause. Then KK out if his own generosity knowing that it could cost him more than he could handle did this nice thing.

So the project was a little bit bigger than Brandon could handle with his budget and we ( member of this site) are just looking for other generous members who might like to donate a few buck to the cause, if no one does Brandon is proud to do what he's done and knows, that although it will make the start of his next school year tough, he did something good for someone else.

Oh and tell your son to sell his Mustang ... Brandon Sold his CE Mark VIII and hasn't asked anyone about poor Brandon doesn't have his prized Mark VIII could you give me money to get one. Also Pepperman didn't ask the membership to do this for him. We did it because we wanted to do it for a great member of this site.

Oh and your statement is what is wrong with this great country ... too much self pitty and too much "It's about me" ... Care about your fellow man.

Mathew 19 v 16-22
16 Someone came to Jesus with this question: "Teacher,* what good things must I do to have eternal life?"
17 "Why ask me about what is good?" Jesus replied. "Only God is good. But to answer your question, you can receive eternal life if you keep the commandments."
18 "Which ones?" the man asked. And Jesus replied: " `Do not murder. Do not commit adultery. Do not steal. Do not testify falsely.
19 Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.'* "
20 "I've obeyed all these commandments," the young man replied. "What else must I do?"
21 Jesus told him, "If you want to be perfect, go and sell all you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
22 But when the young man heard this, he went sadly away because he had many possessions.

Please don't take the text out of context. The example of the rich man was to prove what was of most importance to him; not that Jeshua actually expected him to do it. HE knew he wouldn't before HE posited the answer. This is much deeper than just sell everything and follow.

Maybe I don't know the whole story. My only point is there are "deserving" people all over. Wouldn't it be better to get him a spot on "Overhaulin"? They do great work for deserving people.

Wow I hate to see this thread.

Brandon is a great person.... someone who would give you his shirt off his back.

Hope you get caught up....... life sucks sometimes.

If you don't know the whole story.... stfu until you do.

I have $29k in student loans, that's what happens if you want an education... I sold my CE because I needed the money, boohoo life sucks... I wanted to put together this car because it was an awesome way to rally all the members of LVC who know and understand what the LVC family is about and do something really cool, if you don't get that it sucks for you.

Thanks to everyone who understands what this project was all about and helped make it happen!

What's wrong with LvC taking care of it's own ... just because it wasn't you. Sorry ... guess it wasn't your turn .... Nothing wrong with this site supporting it's members. That's what we do.

Oh and my Scripture was not taken out of context, that's what the Bible pushers do. Also how do you know how deep the meaning is ... did Christ tell you himself? Did he come to you in a dream

Brandon ... you are a great member to this site and you did a wonderful thing for Pepperman. Sorry that the jealousy of a member would have to try and ruin this .... Don't let this bother you.

Fu<king college sucks.. I'm sitting in class right now.. Thinking about all that debt I have coming to me..

My life sucks..

Think your debt is bad now? One word, buddy: MORTGAGE. Single biggest purchase for most people. A few college loans isn't anything really lol.

Plus, it could always get worse. In the words of Tyler Durden: "A woman could cut off your penis in your sleep and throw it out the window of a moving vehicle."

Just saying it's almost never as bad as it seems.

Apparently, you don't "get it". Mespock pretty much has explained it very well though. Pepps didn't "ask" anyone to do this for him. The project was headed up by Brandon, and with much support in the form of time/money/whatever, a bunch of guys together made this idea a reality. The problem was, they went slightly over budget. Since Brandon was in charge, he put forth the extra money to make sure it was completed. He didn't ask for money. Hell, he's not even expecting it. He's not the one asking for help. Just as Pepps wasn't asking for anything either.

I don't see how this relates to your son's mustang in the least. Talk about out of context.

Ohh yess.. It could be worse. Good luck with the project

Dude i didn't ask anyone to do this for me that is something i would NEVER DO. I didn't even know they were going to give me the car until we were at the park getting ready for the cruise. What Brandon and the others did totally left me speechless, this was Brandon's idea from the start and he is one very cool dude. I cannot thank him and the others enough for what they did for me, am i deserving you would have to ask the people involved in this project my friends thought i was and that means alot to me my Friends ROCK.

My oldest Daughter's College debt ... over $60,000 ... ummm ... that's almost a house in our area or at least a good start.

thats why i'm going to a local college, i've taken out 2 loans already and have just over 10,000 in debt, but my parents are taking most of the second loan to pay bills so technically i only have like 6000 for 2 years of college

Good point. That's a pretty big hole to climb out of. 60K can buy a house for sure. Dunno what type of shape, or specs, but you could buy a dwelling for 60K.

I was under 20K in student loans, but I never graduated. I think I have about 1500 left to pay off.

Well she this does include her Master's program ... Now she's about to work on her Doctorates ... but this she should get paid by the University she attends as before she starts she will start teaching at the University.

Proud of her ... only 25 years old ...
