i have had my lincoln dropped for some time now and while i love the stance the bumpsteer is starting to irritate me. i wanted to know if anyone has tried to shim their tie rod ends or steering rack to compensate for this. the car rides great but every bump pulls me around. my car sits fairly low and i would love to keep it that way. has anyone corrected this before or had a similar issue. im pretty positive that the tie rod end is to far up and is pulling the wheel in as the tire goes up. thanks

If you THAT low, you will never get it aligned right. Or maybe your rear shocks are shot. Rear shocks can do a lot to the front end bounce too - you'd be surprised.

Another word of caution. I have a height adjustable module so I can adjust my height at will. I had mine at a pretty low stance AND I was on the highway, so pretty darn low. I nearly flip the car end over end by hitting a buckle in the blacktop that formed on a hot day. I hit hard with the k-member - under the engine. I took a good chuck out of the blacktop and hurt my neck for a week.

What I am getting at, is while its nice low - you may want to take a peak under the front end to see how low the k-member is. You may change you mind once you realize that anything on the road becomes a hazard. In which case, shimming the bump stops becomes a non point :)

well im not scraping low. i still clear speed bumps and everything. it aligns on the rack perfectly. the control arm adjusters are correct. it has brand new shocks on the rear and the front end was redone a little while back. has new tires and wheels on all four corners. it just tends to steer itself. where it is lowered to is the right spot for me. if i really have to clear anything i have switches that i installed myself in the car to raise and lower it at will. i just wanted to know if anyone else has had a similar problem. and myturn i did some research and the tie rod ends for mustangs are the same except for one critical part, they are 1.5 inches shorter, so that wont help the problem at all. the kits are just a little longer.

the only time i experienced bump steer in my LSC.........was when my front struts went bad........and the front was in the ground................

BOUNCE BOUNCE BOUNCE..........

ive had my lowered coil conversion on my car for about a year now........no bumpsteer...........

well im going to try and replace the tie rod ends and see if that helps... and yes i had a full alignment and everything checks out. just wondering if anyone has experienced this

I wouldn't replace anything yet. .. My car has always practically steered itself, worn out parts, and new parts. Your alignment might be 'in spec' but, it doesn't take much to change how the car behaves. I'd try another place for an alignment.

And, I drive my car at height as seen in the picture below.. everywhere.

Good luck.
