I have a 02 LS 3.0L V6 and have taken my intake off to replace my spark plugs and coils and was told to also replace the PCV valve... I can not for the life of me find this stupid thing. On most older cars it is right on the valve cover. Any help would be great, please please... I need to put my car back together.

Thanks to any one with some advice, or call me if you feel like being a hero.

It's got to be unscrewed out of that black breather box (if you checked the link that Lou provided) and can be a pain to do. The new one comes with a piece of tubing bent around the valve. It kind of helps to use that tube as an attitude maintainer (steadies the valve into the right axis for you while you are turning it into the threads in the breather box) and then you can bend the tube open so that it slips off the valve and then throw it away. I mean recycle it. :-) The hose is also a pain to get in place and I think that I found that attaching the PCV valve to the new hose and the line to the front of the engine before doing the valve install to the breather box seems to be easier than bending and pinching the new hose into position after the valve has been set in place. I've done this twice and hated the job both times.

Hey thanks every one for the quick response. I decided to skip the PCV for another day and put it back together. Removing the upper intake was not as tricky as I originally thought it would be.

Also, seems I have to remove the lower intake to do this job, any suggestions about dealing with the injectors, or do I ignore them and just work around them?

Thanks again, u guys are great.

The injectors are part of an assembly and lift out as a unit with the lower intake removal. There is a big honkin' plug on the harness that feeds the injectors that has to come off the back side of the head/block area that can be a real pain to de-mate.

Injectors

When I did mine, I left the injectors attached and just moved the entire assembly to the side. It's one of those "aaaaahhhh" moments when you see the PCV valve and hose sitting there - as it seems that's all there is:-) If there, replace that hose too.
