I'm in need of replacing the fuel pump in my 2001 ls8. I have a couple of questions. I know there are two fuel pumps but which one is the one that sends fuel to the engine. I located the pump access under the rear seat but I'm having problem with the connectors that attach the rubber fuel lines to the hat of the basket. Are there any tricks to getting them off? Has anyone done a pump replacement that came give me a few pointers?

How do you take the hose connectors off? Do you need a special tool?

I am pretty sure the passanger side pump sends fuel to the engine. The driver's side is a transfer pump only.

you pinch in the 'nobs' on the lock ring and then pull the hose up (straight) and off. The ring stays on the pump - the hose has a tube the runs through the lock ring.
