Hi! I just bought my first MarkVIII LSC 1998. Was just woundering how hard is it to put in a new air pump for the air ride?

It takes an hour or so - depending. remove, rf wheel, rf wheelliner, r&r the pump assy. Zip it up. There is a ton of tech info and "how tos" on LOD or Mk8.org.

Thank you. That will be the first thing I do(hopefully I wont have to replace the air bags)

welcome to LVC, and like said above its easy, just when removing the air lines push the orange collar and the line in then pull the line out holding the collar in

I will do that. Im going to pick her up tomorrow and I will have to fix the air ride. And the pump isnt turning on. So I'm gonna try that first before replacing the bags.

I would check the compressor relay first, you'll still have to remove the wheel and everthing, but there is a solid-state relay there that looks like the picture below, the anti-lock brake system uses the same relay, you could remove that one and swap them to see if it fixes your problem. The antilock brake relay however is on the opposite side of the car and I believe takes the same amount of work to get at.

:) Will do. So many great people here. Thanks for the advice.

mespock gave you the best place for suspension parts. Best parts, service, and prices.

Btw, when you put the lines back in sometimes you REALLY have to push them back in before they seal. In case you have problems, just remember... you have to push the line back in about 20 times harder than you'd think to get it to slip in far enough. Make sure the end of the line isn't ovaled to help with the re-insertion.
