First post. Really pleased to be a member - spent several hrs reviewing everything I could find on the well-documented cooling system problems on my gen1 LSV8. Not a mechanic but have learned to use a wrench over the last 62 yrs.
I'm awaiting delivery of NCE2247ADKIT (44.+shp) Alum thermostat housing kit from Rockauto. The cap threads on the old plastic housing shred when I replaced the cap which ended being a 10mm hole.
Plan on getting the 5/16 drop-offset wrench for the 2 back bolts and a can of Liquidwrench to hit daily everything that is going to be removed. Read up on the bleed - I can do that.
