I've read about having to do the heater bleed screw when attempting to rid the cooling system of air. Can someone tell me where it is located? Thanks.

Is this your 03, or your 02 LS? [It would help if everyone would post the year of their LS that they are asking about, gen II can be very different from gen I.]

It's the 03 and I didn't know the bleed screw next to the degas bottle was called the heater bleed screw. I thought in some of the posts I read it sounded like people were talking about a second bleed screw mounted on the heater somewhere. Thanks.

On my 2004 LSV8, it looks like a 1/2 inch dia black rubber hose sticking about 6-8 inches out from the driver side firewall area, between the brake master cylinder and Degas bottle inside the driverside fender.

It has a black plastic tip about 1.5 inch long 3/4 dia with a plastic screw with toothed edges and a slot for a flat head. You may or may not be able to uncscrew it with your fingers but it may be full of hot water, so use a screwdriver and take caution if the engine is hot.

Follow directions or you may get burned.

Good Luck,

Jim Henderson

+1 dont be afraid to lose alot of coolant when you bleed, just remember to fill the degas bottle back up!
