I have an issue with my drivers side heated mirror on my '06. Last winter at some point it stopped heating and also became sort of discolored on the mirror surface. I found the fuse for it (in the trunk) had blown. I went ahead and replaced it and of course it blew it again short time later.
I'm guessing the discoloration is an indication that the heating element got too hot and the fuse blowing tells me it was drawing too much current. So, is it possible to replace the heating element on these mirrors? Or do I need to start looking for a whole replacement?
