Are these worth checking/replacing? Dont have any issues but was trying to check today and it seems you have to remove the seat? Thought they would just slip out the back somehow... 05 3.9..
 
Yes, they are worth replacing.
No, you don't have to remove the seat.

Move the seats up and forward. Reach up under the seat from behind, and the filters twist off.

Looks like the "air duct" finally failed. Fan works for 30 seconds and then powers off. Majority of the links here are dead at this point so cant see the TSB for replacing it.. from what I gather its 4 bolts for the seat but the bottom leather has to come off? Does it hook on? Any special tools needed? Does the seat need to come out im a special position?

Cooled element works fine but winter is coming so yea. 05 LS.
