So..... This morning my daughter tried the heated seat; as is her custom. She informed me it didn't work. So I thought I may have left it unplugged the last time I had the seat out. I looked and both plugs are secure. The light for the seat comes on for a second or so, then goes out. The left side works fine. The switch works as I swapped them to eliminate that failure. They use the same fuse, which is fine. Again, the left heat works fine.

Checking the collective wisdom here, would that indicate the heating pad is shorting and needs replacement?

Not shorting, but opening. (still means it needs to be replaced)

Thanks. I guess I'll be ordering the seat pad....... I have reason to believe it's the bottom pad that went bad as the leather on the seat bottom is funky and the color pretty much gone at the rear of the cushion.

i would check the resistance of the heating elements with a DMM, this seems like one of the more common reasons for failing.
