Heated and Cooled Seats question

why would you want to listen to your music in analog form?

Oh dear, someone else who actually believes digital is SUPERIOR to analog... I'm an audiophile. And I'm telling you RIGHT NOW a decent LP player with a diamond tipped needle will ALWAYS sound 100% superior to the highest quality CD, nay, SA-CD.

Analog will ALWAYS sound better than digital. Reason analog is on the way out is because it's WAY more expensive to use. LP's are expensive, good players are expensive and don't even ask about how much a diamond tipped needle is. Analog is direct from the source. Digital is broken down and reassembled.

But anyway, my 06 LS has heated/cooled seats, heated rear seats and a tape deck. :) So I'm living proof this option combination exists. :D

The environment inside a car is vastly different then a studio or your living room. And cassette tapes are very different then LPs.

Wanna bet???

Show me a modern vehicle with one and we will talk.

I never got my creds in it but i have messed around with sonar, cubase, nuendo and FL Studio. Still have condenser mic, usb mixer, a couple preamps and a korg tr 61.

Havent messed with it in years though.

This is what im trying to say.

Cassettes suck. They distort and degrade and dont hold much. An ipod can hold days worth of music in a very high quality format. You can also pick songs versus rewind and fast forward.

And LP's have nothing to do with the convo agreed.

And really no one on here is disputing that tapes suck ass. Those of us that have/want a tape deck just use it so we can use that goofball tape adapter to use our Ipods. Since Ford didn't start installing the Aux jack until 07.

The other flaws in your argument are humorous, but the discussion would be exhausting

Lol, my argument is that analog is better than digital and with the proper equipment LP's will always sound better than CD's. I'm curious what these other invisible "flaws" are. :P

Ya, an LP player in a car would ROCK. :D

But yes, cassettes suck. Only reason I mentioned LP's was to give an example of analog vs. digital. I wasn't talking about putting one in a car. The original quote was Why would you want to listen to music in analog form?, a very general question unrelated to a car's sound environment/equipment. So there ya go, that's what brought it up.

Damn! Too bad I missed this conversation. Back in the 80's I used to record custom cassettes off of vinyl specifically for certain vehicles using $10 TDK MA-XG. I will guarantee my recordings sounded better than any CD. I could even cancel most of the road noise from the car while the music was playing. Analog tape did degrade over time though but then I would just make another recording.

The fact is the sterile sound of digital audio can only be realized when the car is parked. Any noise introduced into the listening space would surely be a departure from the absolute quiet of a proper listening room. So, the money spent on super duper audio components to get that clean sound would be better spent on enhancing the audio's dynamics to overcome the noisy environment.
