So my LS has a Eclipse AVN 5435 already installed in it, along with a four channel amp mounted on the back of the driver side rear seat. Well when I bought the car, the head unit stated that it needed the map disc to operate. Meaning for the past week I have been driving around with no audio - nada - zilch - zip... So I bought a map disc from 2009 and it was delivered yesterday, and I was stoked when I put it in and the unit booted properly only to get stuck at the security screen. Now I have to call Eclipse, which is no longer in the business of car electronics, and pay them to tell me the unlock code over the phone. Hopefully they are willing to do this, and not going to require me to send the unit in to them. Though I would send the unit in, as this unit is worth over a grand, and I don't want to part with it - unless they tell me its as good as a paper weight. . . I will keep you guys posted!

Also if you have an Eclipse unit, and maybe want an updated map disc, you should contact me via PM - I could prolly help you out.

the eclipse's need a security CD to unlock, good luck getting eclipse to help you with out proof of purchase of the nav system

Check online for a service manual. That may tell you how to disarm the secrity feature. the service manual for my kenwood head unit shows how to reset the security code.

Well good news - Eclipse came through, and unlocked my unit! WOOT!
However the DVD map disc that I purchased off of ebay, worked for five minutes then took a :q:q:q:q on me. I am really pissed - especially when I called Eclipse back and told them of my new problem, they said to disconnect the battery, and when I reconnected it - well I am back to being unable to play audio until it reads my map disc... (where as before I was able to listen to the radio and such, just not use the navigation feature.) So i have to talk with the vendor about sending me out a new disk - yet again. Grumble :q:q:q:qin grumble...

**Edit**
1 hour later, tried the disc again and now I have a working radio... WTF?
