I was walking by a Pontiac grand prix today, mid 90's, and it had to have what appeared to be a heads up display on the left side of the dash. What year did GM start using the heads up display?

I can't remember.......I think as early as '93? Grand prix and Bonneville / SSEI had the hud as an option. Those SSEI's are pretty nice, not too bad to tweak either (supercharged).

Car HUDs in cars are overrated. Usually, you only get speed, maybe RPM, and maybe gear you're in, and on the really expensive cars (BMW's), you might get GPS turn guidance. No targeting, no threat indicator, no altitude, no traffic collision avoidance, no Vc no LAR... wait... :D

The earliest GM with a HUD that I can remember is the 2000 Grand Prix GT.

My 98 Grand Prix GTP had HUD. Wasn't bad, except if you put in an aftermarket stereo you lost the radio station showing up on it.

I has HUD in the F450. Again, overrated.
