I just got my first Gen 1 last week. standard headlights(not HID). I just am replacing a low-beam bulb. i dont want to break it and its been awhile. how do i get the old one out? is there a tab to press that locked the last one in? what is the technique to do this in the tight space? I know to twist it in the direction that says OUT but couldnt seem to press it in and twist like a taillight. help guys. I know this is remedial but I scared of breaking anything.

thanks

everyone says just twist the bulb 1/4 to a 1/2 turn and pull out. this isnt doing it. is there tab to press first is all i need to know. help!!!!!!!!!!!!

get a pair of pliers and twist it a little bit then twist with hand.

Are you at all familiar with a Gen2 headlamp assembly?

I just recently picked up my 98 so I'm not sure how the Gen1 works, but I'll give it my best shot. The high beam bulb in the Gen2 twists slightly counterclockwise and then comes up and out. Mine sometimes puts up a fight, but you just have to pull it out. Or is it like the amber colored marker on the Gen2? Is it a bigger plastic socket that you twist out, then the bulb plugs into that?

Hopefully that made some sense? haha

unplug the light bulb. and then twist. my driver side was stuck, so I grabbed some pliers and gently twisted it and it came loose.
