Hey guys, Just had a quick question. I wanted to put in hids but the LS has sealed covers behind each light. So I didnt know if anyone has tried to put in 6000k, 55w, H11 bulbs in without the hid light conversion with the ballast? I found a pair on amazon.com. thanks

An HID bulb wont work without a ballast.

You can get a set of oem hid headlights and simply plug them up and be set. But they
are hard to find and expensive.

right. i should have been clearer lol. I meant do you think i will recieve the same results with an H11 bulb that is 6000k? not HID.

Just get the 35w DDM tuning kit. It's cheap and comes with a free lifetime warranty. You just need to buy a couple brackets and mount the ballasts behind the lights.

FYI as of right now they dont have the slim kit.

Theres some slim kits on fleabay but i dont know if theyre of the same caliber
as ddm.

Thats right.

5000K is that sharper white almost blue and 6000K light blue.

But my 5K fogs and 4300k lows look very very close. Almost perfect match.

Ok so no the 6000k wont match the 4300k. 6000k will be whiter.

yeah. thats why I wanted something around 6000k so it had that blue/white look. but I was just thinking about buying bulbs that were H11 6000k. instead of trying to by the ballasts and mounting them

Ok. I may just go ahead and buy the kit instead. Thanks for the info and your input. ill have pics up soon

do you think just buying a 55w 6000k h11 bulb will still be bright enough and cast the blue/white light?

The higher you go, the less visible output.

You think it looks brighter but its really isnt. 4300K is brighter than 6000K.

5K is a good balance between bright and blue.

Maybe even 6K. But no higher...

I have 8k, you think there gonna look weird with 6000k angel eyes? fu<k it! if the look different ill just order 6000k bulbs

Not to thread jack, but I have a similar question. I plan on putting angel eyes in my car, but I already installed a set of 6kK HID's. Its a little late to worry about the color match, but should it be ok?
